Sinar Maju Marin Sdn Bhd (“SMMSB”) is currently providing transportation support services rice loader project at Johor Port, Pasir Gudang. SMMSB was given the trust to provide lorry transportation services by transferring packed rice from the vessels to designated warehouses.

In this project that took place over a period of 4 months from May 2024, SMMSB has successfully completed the rice loader project entrusted by her customers despite short notice and planning. In this project, SMMSB has handled 56,296.03 MTS of rice cargo from 14 voyages through 1,159 trips.

Land transportation for shipping refers
to the movement of goods or cargo by road or rail before or after they are transported by sea.

It plays a crucial role in the logistics and supply chain industry, ensuring seamless connectivity between ports, warehouses, and final destinations.

Types of Land Transportation in Shipping:

1. Trucking (Road Transport) – Trucks and trailers transport containers or bulk cargo to and from ports.

2. Rail Transport – Trains carry large volumes of goods over long distances, often linking major ports with inland distribution centers.

3. Intermodal Transport – A combination of road, rail, and sea transport, using standardized containers for smooth transitions.

Land transportation is essential in port operations, freight forwarding, and last-mile delivery, ensuring efficient cargo movement in international trade.
